With one rehearsal to go, this Friday, our singers are looking forward hugely to our concert the following evening, at 7.30 on Saturday 18th December -in just three days time. Although the Christ's Hospital Box Office is now closed tickets will be available on the door, so if you're hoping to sing carols this year, and looking to hear some fabulous Christmas music, this is your chance. Highlights include extracts from Handel's "Messiah" and a wonderful German piece by the 17th century composer Buxtehude which, almost certainly, you will not know but which we, the singers, have come to love. Come along and hear why, and join us in singing such favourites as "Good King Wenceslas", "O Come all ye Faithful" and the local "Sussex Carol" and a few more besides.
It goes without saying that the latest wave of the current pandemic casts a cloud over all events but please be assured that we have Covid security well in hand. * The Chapel at Christ's Hospital can hold 1000 people, but we will have far fewer than that present, with socially distanced seating. We expect our audience to wear masks at all times, except when singing. We will endeavour to seat those who wish as close to the door as possible, but do wear warm clothing so that we can leave the doors open. You can read our Covid policy here >
We hope that all audience members will join us after the concert for a glass of wine or a soft drink, and a mince pie in the school's dining hall, a hugely spacious and lofty room, or outside in the open air if you prefer. This is included in the ticket prices which are:
Adults £11 £10 Concessions £5 Children
See you on Saturday!
* Please be aware of Christ's Hospital school's Box Office Covid policy :-
Please Note:
Some performances may continue to be rescheduled in response to the pandemic. Where possible customers with tickets will be contacted about these changes and our website updated.
We encourage customers to continue wearing a face mask when in close proximity to other members of the public and our hand sanitising stations and enhanced cleaning regimes will remain in place.
We look forward to a future beyond the pandemic, but for now we urge you to work with us and be sensitive and respectful to other people’s opinions and beliefs. We will continue to do all that we can to ensure your visit to Christ’s Hospital is safe and secure.
