Eligibility

New adult singers are always welcome. No previous choral experience is required, nor is there an audition, but the ability to sing in tune is expected. It is not essential to be able to read music although it does help because the works we perform can be challenging.  It is expected that each singer will learn their part and, if necessary, practice between rehearsals. Members who miss more than three of the  rehearsals for a concert need the agreement of the Musical Director to sing in that concert.

 

Fees

As of September 2025 our subscription is a single payment of £110 for the full year.  Christ's Hospital staff may be eligible for a discount and should speak to our Membership Secretary.

 

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held at 7.30pm every Tuesday at Christ’s Hospital, Horsham.  Most rehearsals are held in the Hertford Centre.  There are no rehearsals during the school’s holidays or half term holidays. The final Tuesday rehearsal before a concert is usually held in the concert venue. (There is typically a “dress” rehearsal on the day of a concert, and it is a requirement that this be attended if singing in the concert.)

Workshops

We usually hold a workshop for the major works we sing in either our our Spring or Autumn concert and visiting singers are very welcome.  Read more here
