We are delighted to announce our intention to hold a Workshop with the working title 'Singing Together Again', on Saturday 28th August at Christ's Hospital to get our voices going again. We will be singing pieces many of us know and love, the current suggestions being
Haydn - The Heavens are telling (from Creation)
Vivaldi - Gloria
Faure - Requiem (selection),
Brahms – How lovely are thy dwellings (From German Requiem)
Jenkins – Armed Man (selection)
and perhaps other pieces by Rutter, Handel, and other choral classics, but we will firm up on this and all other details in the coming weeks.
The event will be conducted by our Musical Director Ruaraidh Sutherland, who will be warming us up with singing exercises before we get singing, and our accompanist for the day will be Louisa Lam who was appointed as our new accompanist at the start of the pandemic. The workshop will be open to all - our members past and present of course, but also other local singers and people who have sung at our previous workshops.
Sorry we can't tell you more at the moment but we will update the website when we have further detail - times, duration, cost etc. In the meantime please do keep that day free because this should be a joyful occasion!
