Christmas in the Chapel 2023

Our ever popular Christmas concert

will be held in the Chapel at Christ's Hospital on Saturday 16th December at 7.30 p.m.  The choir will be conducted by our Director of Music, Verity Bramson, who is Head of Singing in the Music Department at Christ's Hospital  school.  We will be joined by Baritone soloist Edward Jones, Deputy Head of Music at the school. 

The choir will be singing a selection of Christmas music.  Some will be well known to you, some perhaps less so, but all beautiful Festive music, some traditional, some just plain fun!  The music will be interspersed with two or three Christmas readings.

In addition there will be five well known carols for the audience to sing with the choir, including We three Kings, O come all ye faithful, In the bleak midwinter and more.   The full programme, and programme notes, are shown below.

Jonathan Lee, Organist at Christ's Hospital school, will accompany us on the splendid Chapel organ.  This is the first time for some years that this mighty 5-manual organ, built by Rushworth & Dreaper in 1931, has been able to be used for our concert as it has been undergoing a full rebuild by the organ specialists Manders.  If you haven't heard it before you are in for a real treat!

Tickets bought in advance are £12.50 or £5 (children).

Tickets will be available on the door on the evening of the concert : £15.00 for adults or £5 for children.
